Standards play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and interoperability of products and services across industries. For SMEs and crafts, engaging with standardisation processes can unlock numerous benefits, including cost savings, compliance with regulations, quality assurance or enhanced access to European and international markets and value chains. Despite these advantages, many SMEs, crafts and their organisations are not involved in and aware about standardisation.

This workshop, coinciding with the 100-year anniversary of PKN, is a unique opportunity for Polish SME and craft associations, sector representatives, and entrepreneurs to discover how standardisation can drive growth, innovation, and market access. By participating, organisations will gain practical insights into the benefits of standards, hear success stories from local SMEs and crafts, learn how to actively engage in the standards development process and contribute to shaping the standards that impact their sector.

Objectives:

  • Foster the cooperation between ZRP and PKN
  • Show the benefits of using standards among Polish SMEs and crafts by showcasing concrete success stories from other small businesses
  • Raise SME, crafts and their organisations awareness about the possibilities to engage in standards development through PKN
  • Discuss challenges regarding participation in standardisation and how they could be addressed (best practices from other National Standards Bodies)
